- Lead the enhancement of service delivery and outcomes for young people in Youth Justice
- Contribute to improving the outcomes of young people's futures with your expertise in family violence risk assessment and management.
- VPS Grade 5 role: $113,022 - $136,747 per year plus superannuation.
An exciting, fixed term, full-time opportunity exists for a Senior Family Violence Practice Lead in Clinical Oversight and Rehabilitation based in Melbourne.
Reporting to the Director, Clinical Oversight and Rehabilitation, the Senior Family Violence Practice Lead holds a critical role in strategically leading a team of Family Violence Practice Leads to support YJ case managers and custodial staff in building capability to proactively identify family violence, risk assessment and management under the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework
The Opportunity
- Provide secondary consultation on complex family violence cases, best practice principles, and effective application of family violence reforms for Youth Justice teams who work with young people.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team of Family Violence Practice Leads, including developing and maintaining a culture that reflects the department's values, facilitates operational and clinical supervision, oversees performance management, and supports access to professional development opportunities.
- Lead case reviews of high-risk young people to inform specialist advice to YJ staff, Multi-Agency Panels, High Risk Panels and other committees who contribute to the oversight of young people in YJ.
To be successful in this role you will have experience in:
- Providing leadership to a team of Family Violence Practice Leads or similar in working with family violence victim survivors and/or perpetrators
- Strong understanding of the MARAM framework, FVISS and CISS, and family violence services.
- Knowledge and understanding of working with adolescents and children, including an understanding of the Child Protection and Youth Justice systems, and the interrelation between family violence and adolescent offending risk.
- Experience in advocating and providing expert advice to practitioners and case managers to strengthen family violence practice and manage family violence risk.
- Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of family violence and needs of victim survivors and young people using family violence, including family violence dynamics and complexities
- A current driver's licence is required due to the need to work across different locations across Melbourne (including custodial precincts, and community Youth Justice offices)
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
