Job Description
- Join Victoria's Youth Justice Precinct at Cherry Creek.
- Provide administrative and business support to the Statewide Rehabilitation Services Team
- Contribute to improving the outcomes of young people's futures.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. As an area within the department, Youth Justice is committed to the demonstration of the Victorian Public Sector values. Youth Justice provides supervision to young people on community-based and custodial-based orders. Youth Justice provides a range of case management, program and support services that address young people's offending behaviour as well as knowledge, skills and attitudes to manage their lives effectively without further offending. Through supervision, rehabilitation services and linkages to appropriate support services, Youth Justice promotes opportunities for accountability and rehabilitation that contributes to the reduction of crime in the community.
Statewide Rehabilitation Services (SRS) is a statewide program that provides young people in custody and the community with developmentally targeted and multi-systemic offence-specific and offence-related assessments and interventions. As a statewide model, SRS aims to provide continuity of care to young people as they move from custody into the community.
The opportunity
- Fixed-Term, full-time position through to June 30 2027 based 30mins west of Melbourne - Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct.
- VPS3 role: $79,122 - $96,073 per year plus super.
- Coordination of sensitive and confidential client referral information across clinical information systems and platforms
- Support clinical operations through office management and admin onboarding activities such as preparing meeting rooms for video conferencing, local meeting booking systems, ordering laptops and equipment, inbox management.
- Contribute to projects under a defined scope of work, in a team environment which may include development of project timelines, drafting communication assets and liaising with stakeholders involved.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working with the Youth Justice Client Record Information System (CRIS), or similar record management systems.
- Demonstrated understanding and awareness of the importance of integrity and the complexities of records management in a government environment.
- Demonstrated experience and advanced skills in Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint)
- Current full driver's license is required as travel to other custodial sites within the Department may be required.
- A relevant tertiary qualification or experience is desirable
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
