Situated near Werribee, Cherry Creek offers innovative services aimed at reducing reoffending and giving young people the skills to make the most of their lives when they return to the community.
As a unit supervisor, you will lead a team of youth justice workers who support young people with daily activities and tasks. It's a role that can be physically and mentally tough, requiring resilience and commitment, but the reward of seeing young people make small shifts in their thinking can be life changing.
Day to day, you will engage with a variety of stakeholders including clinicians, specialists and health staff to provide advice in relation to complex and challenging behaviours. You will collaborate with education providers to support positive outcomes and promote important security procedures.
In addition, unit supervisors help deliver rehabilitation support services in line with leading research and evidence-based practices, ensuring appropriate standards of care are provided to young people in our care.
Other key responsibilities include applying your knowledge to operational safety training, dynamic risk assessment and supervising staff, with a focus on encouraging positive interactions with young people that could create behaviour change and a successful transition back into the community.

To be successful in the role, you will require:
- Demonstrated experience in fostering therapeutic outcomes with young people based on individual needs.
- Demonstrated experience in managing challenging and complex behaviours using positive behaviour strategies.
The following qualifications are highly desirable: completed Certificate IV in Youth Justice, Diploma of Justice or Community Services, Certificate IV in Community Services and Alcohol and other Drugs.
As is experience in the following areas: psychology, education, speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychiatric nursing, criminology, youth work or social studies.
